  • What a View!

We stayed for one night at the hotel. The staff (Jasmine, Nancy) were great! The room had an incredible view. Although we did not use the amenities we could see how enjoyable a stay in Summer or Fall would have so much to offer. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast had all we required. Again, the staff were excellent. We will be returning in the fall! Hopefully there will be ATV trails nearby.

  • Gorgeous View!

Either an updated or newer hotel, right on the lake with a gorgeous view!

  • Retreat Bliss!!!

The Lodge is located on the shores of Lake Detroit in Detroit Lakes, MN and has the ambiance that will make your experience a memorable one.

When you walk in, the decor really fits the atmosphere and you'll know you've made the right choice for your stay. The rooms are comfortable and very clean. They have the best continental breakfast and you get to enjoy it by overlooking the lake.

During the day you can soak up the sun on their beach and in the evenings you can enjoy a bonfire by the lake. This is one of the best hotels I've stayed in and I'd recommend it anyone looking for a relaxing stay.

  • AMAZING!!

I went here for a retreat with my coworkers; the experience was simply wonderful. The staff was so warm and welcoming, the breakfast was very delicious. Don't even get me started on the rooms! They were very beautiful, with a mini fridge, microwave, and beautiful bathroom.

They had a rocking chair, desk, and a nice TV; but who needs a TV with a view like they have? I had a ground floor room, so I could walk right out of my room to the back, where they have a little "beach" and dock, a place for bon fires and a picnic tables. I had no choice but to go to The Lodge, this was a work retreat; but I am most definitely going to be making plans to come back here for myself when I need a little getaway. This place was simply splendid!!

  • Best Best Western I have stayed at.

This Motel is right on the lake and has a very nice décor. All rooms are lake facing and the furnishing looked almost new. My room included a refrigerator and microwave and a small balcony. The exercise facility contained top end equipment and a nice variety of machines and free weights. They serve a hot breakfast that was good, but it never changed all week. A little variety would have been nice. Over all this was a very comfortable place.

  • Motorcycle Friendly.

The staff were very friendly and accommodating to our group. They provided support pads for our '"kick-stands," buckets and old towels to wash our bikes in addition to all the other things that a good hotel does to make your stay with them stand out as a cut above the rest.

The complimentary chairs, and fire-pit at the beach, along with the view over the lake, made our stay there seem like time spent at an expensive resort rather than a reasonably priced hotel providing five star service.

  • Fantastic Lodge

This is much more of a lodge than a hotel. The grounds were beautiful and well maintained. The are native wild flower gardens, a very clean beach, fire pits. (wood provided and smores kits at the front desk), and a dock where the kids caught a ton of fish.

We stayed with our kids for 3 nights and could have spent the whole time at the lodge. Breakfast was very well done for a continental and we loved eating on the balcony. We had a ground level room and sat and watched the sun set on the lake every night. The spa was very nice and the whole place immanently clean. I am thoroughly impressed, Best Western Premier. Thank you!

  • Thank you for the warm hospitality!

This is an absolutely beautiful hotel that feels more like a resort. Everything from the service, the food, the rooms with a beach front view, it was a fabulous experience! I don't have one single negative thing to say about this location . . .

The staff was so accommodating and eager to help in anyway they could. Detroit Lakes is such a fun, lake/beach town that I will for sure be traveling to again! Thank you for the warm hospitality!

  • By far the BEST!

I have stayed in many hotels for my boys hockey tournaments and this one was by far the BEST one I have stayed in. I would really like to get up there in the summer to enjoy the lake and the awesome view this hotel has.

  • Best kept secret in Detroit Lakes!!

This hotel is the best kept secret in Detroit Lakes!! Very pretty- staff wonderful and the breakfast food to die for!

Stay here every time I do business in the area as well as we have stayed twice during the summer with our boating on the lake! Love this place Staff the best!

  • It was a wonderful experience!

We stayed over We Fest and had a great experience. Even though the hotel was booked solid, the staff was always there to help us.

They kept the hotel and rooms clean at all times. The beach perfectly kept was a great place to entertain the kids. We fished off the dock and had fun in the paddle boats. The breakfast was fantastic - a full hot breakfast with lots of great food. We plan to stay again next year!

  • Beach Access!!

Very nice hotel right on its own beach. We had a room on beach level and our patio doors open up to it. Very nice. I think we paid $170/night over Memorial Weekend.

Sounds like a lot, but you get a lot--including a great breakfast. Lot of options for varying diets/nutritional needs. If you think about the time and expense of bringing your family out to breakfast (depending on how many) we figured it balanced out at $170.

If you like to run/bike outside, the hotel is also right off of a bike/running path that heads towards the main beach on Detroit Lake. If you go all the way around the lake (using the shoulder of the roads too) back to the hotel its a 10 mile loop. Great place to stay. The only con is that the price fluctuates and the next time we wanted to book there (mid August 2014) they were requiring a 3 night stay minimum at $210 and up each night. That's a bit much.

  • Relaxing!

We return to this hotel every year for a Family Reunion (about 40 of us). The lodge is a great place for this as they have lots of different things to do to keep everyone entertained.

Nice beach, great spa, very good breakfast, great fire pits and breath taking sunsets you can watch from your own balcony or the hotel lobby balcony. They always have live entertainment on the Friday & Saturday evening in the main lobby bar. The rooms are spacious and decorated in a cabin style with upscale amenities. Beds are very comfortable. Staff is friendly. Always a great time.

Room Tip: I have seen the inside of all the different styles of rooms and they are all beautiful.
