Oktoberfest Wine Tasting Event & 'Live at the Lodge featuring Jazz vocalist, Paula Lammers at The Lodge on Lake Detroit on Friday, Oct 12th
 Detroit Lakes, MN, 10/8/07 - The Lodge on Lake Detroit in Detroit Lakes, MN invites you to relax & reconnect with friends at its upcoming Oktoberfest Wine Tasting Event & "Live at the Lodge" featuring a premier appearance by Mpls' jazz vocalist, Paula Lammers & Chris Loheim, pianist.
On Friday, October 12, 2007 experience an "Oktoberfest Wine Tasting Event" from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. Attendees will be treated to a sampling of two German wines, one German beer & appetizers including: * Nachtgold Eiswein "Gold of the Night" wine served with Kaiserschmarrn - The Emperor's pancakes. * St. Gabriel Gewurztraminer wine which has hints of ripe peaches with cinnamon sweet flavors served with sweet & sour pumpkin. * Warsteiner Beer served with Fladle Suppe (German pancake soup).
Admission to the Wine Tasting event is $25 per person. Advance reservations are required by calling The Lodge at 218-847-8439 or 800-761-VIEW. The event is open to hotel guests & to the public. For an overnight getaway, ask about our "Wine Tasting Event Lodging Special".
Following the wine tasting event on Friday, October 12th, "Live at the Lodge" will feature Mpls- based jazz vocalist, Paula Lammers and pianist, Chris Loheim, from 7:00 - 10:00 p.m. in the Lodge's lakefront fireside lobby. The music event is free & open to the public & hotel guests. Attendees may purchase drinks & appetizers at LoLaD's lobby bar.
Paula Lammers has emerged as a significant talent in the MN jazz community over the past several years. Her sound has been described by one listener as, "delectable… The purity & the flawless pitch give me goose bumps! I find the same color quality, the simplicity & perfection in her presentation that I heard for many years in Rosemary Clooney."
In 2005 Lammers released her first CD entitled, "A Blanket of Blue" which received impressive reviews from national sources. It was selected for the Top 10 List for 2005 by Live 365, an internet radio station based out of NY. CD's will be available for purchase at Friday's event. Karl Stober from Jazz Review sums it up: "…one can foresee an intoxicating adventure ahead in the industry for Ms. Lammers…this young sound has the potential to really step out in front of the pack in the independent world. The audience will want to follow her path as she grows".
