Holiday Shopping and Live Jazz at Lodge on Lake Detroit on November 4
Looking for something to do the first Saturday in November?
The Lodge on Lake Detroit has a distinctive shopping and entertainment opportunity for lakes area residents.
Starting at noon that day, the Lodge will play host to a unique Holiday Boutique. Filled with everything from sumptuous desserts to sparkling jewelry, perfect purses to colorful candles, Christmas will be coming early to East Shore Drive this year.
“We will have a variety of vendors in our Reflections Room, overlooking the lake,” said Lodge owner/operator Chris Holland Melhaff. “Sneak away from the stresses and responsibilities of everyday life,” she continued. “Tables will be set up in our Reflections Room. This is also the room that the hotel serves it’s complimentary full hot breakfast each morning.”
The Holiday Boutique will run from noon to 4 p.m. Vendors include Tastefully Simple, Silpada Jewelry, Mary Kay, Plum Grove Farms Soy Candles, PurseNality Etcetera, Creamy Creations Cheesecakes & More, Discovery Toys and Longaberger Baskets.
The pre-season holiday shopping event is being offered to give residents an early start on Christmas lists. Then stay for the music that evening, added Melhaff. The Lodge’s ongoing “Live at the Lodge” music series will offer up the musical stylings of Jazz pianist David Ferreira and saxophonist Russ Peterson, live in the 2-story lakefront, fireside lobby.
“Russ is on faculty at Concordia College in Moorhead and was an international saxophone competition winner prior to moving to Fargo for his current career,” remarked Melhaff. “He is a fantastic jazz musician: there’s no one like him in the region. He is also an incredible composer and plays bassoon in the FM Symphony,” she continued. “We’re so excited and fortunate to have him perform at The Lodge this weekend and at upcoming dates in the future.”
The Lodge’s “Mixologists” will be featuring the hotel’s signature martini – The Sunset Serenade – during this musical event. Other drinks, as well as appetizers, will be available at the lobby bar within the Lodge.
“It will be a perfect night for the girls to get away over hunting weekend and for local residents to enjoy jazz and the company of friends in a smoke-free environment,” said Melhaff. “Escape to The Lodge to unwind, to gather with family and friends, to be pampered, and to focus on a healthy lifestyle.”
Offering unique amenities and services not typically found in a hotel setting, the Lodge features a smoke- and pet-free environment, 2-story lakefront, fireside lobby piano and bar, walk-in glass-enclosed showers, and artwork from regional artists.
“The Holiday Boutique and “Live at the Lodge” events are open to the public and our hotel guests. There is no cover charge,” said Melhaff.
The Holiday Boutique runs from noon to 4 p.m. and “Live at the Lodge” runs from 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
The Lodge on Lake Detroit is offering a special Two Night Stay/ $50 Spa Credit package valid seven days a week through mid-May.
“Enjoy a lakefront smoke-free room with 32-inch wall mounted flat panel TV and pamper yourself at The Spa Within,” commented Melhaff.
