I would definitely stay at The Lodge on Lake Detroit again and recommend it to others. The room and bathroom were spacious and very comfortable. Great access to beach/lake. Enjoyed a campfire in the evening. A spa available in the lower level. Lots of great choices for breakfast. The best coffee around - was excited they had Highland Grog! Leah N, TripAdvisor Guest Review
Very clean and comfortable
This was a great place to stay, every room faces the lake! We stayed in the 3rd floor suite with had two rooms, one with two beds, bathroom tv and closet. The other room had a kitchenette , sofa sleeper, tv and a few chairs and a Great Lake view from the patio. Would definitely stay again and recommend this hotel to others. - DJ, TripAdvisor Guest Review
Just the best all around for our family and our wedding guests!
We recently had our wedding in Detroit Lakes and had many out of town guests traveling to DL for the wedding weekend. The Lodge was so wonderful to work with us in advance to reserve blocks of room for our out of town guests. Jim was great to work with and communication for all of the plans such as welcome bags, room assignments, and all other little details that come up with weddings! The staff at the Lodge is beyond welcoming and friendly which was so wonderful as many of our guests first stop in Detroit Lakes was the Lodge - they were treated to Minnesota nice from the beginning of their trip throughout the entire stay!
The hotel is beautiful and located right on Lake Detroit providing beautiful scenery and picturesque sunsets as you lounge in the lobby with a drink from Lola D's. The rooms at the Lodge are so spacious and accommodating for all types of travelers. The rooms are large, comfortable and very clean. The bathrooms are up to date and very spacious!
Guests of our wedding all enjoyed the continental breakfast, spa, and the convenient location to everything in DL. We can't recommend Jim and his staff at the Lodge enough! We love The Lodge and have spent a weekend up there since our wedding and we received the same level of service and a perfect stay with them again! Jane A. - Minneapolis TripAdvisor Guest
Leagues above other chains!
It is a beautiful place that is obviously taken well care of by staff. The breakfast was outstanding both mornings I was there. Leagues above other chains and even other Best Western's. This was the first place I've stayed on my trip this year where recycling baskets were next to trash baskets in my room and throughout the hotel.
This should be standard at all Best Westerns. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful, especially Brenda on the afternoon shift. I loved my stay at this hotel and was sorry to leave.

We discovered this hotel last year. We have visited this place three times now. It's a quiet getaway with relaxing atmosphere. The rooms are well maintained. The lobby and lounge overlook the lake with large windows. Our room had a private balcony facing the lake. Definitely one of our favorite places to stay. It is priced a little higher, but I think it's overall a great place to stay.
Our favorite DL hotel!
There's no complaints here for this hotel. We are somewhat picky & like to stay in nicer hotels & The Lodge is by far the best DL hotel we've stayed at. We visit DL about 8 times a year & are always hoping to stay here. Very clean, always friendly, love the spa, great continental breakfast & EXTREMELY quiet all of the times we've stayed.
It was a time for us to regroup!
My husband and I were there, taking a break from caring for our son who was diagnosed with leukemia in December. It was a time for us to regroup. The staff and the accommodations were outstanding and it was the restful reprieve we were in search of.
The overall experience was the best!
We had a great time at the murder mystery theater. It was great fun. he overall experience was the best!. What a way be to be spoiled! Thank you again for the fun relaxing time!

Recently I and several members of my extended family had the pleasure of staying at The Lodge for one night - but I wish our stay was longer!
The staff is friendly and very helpful, the rooms are unbelievably pristine with nice eco-friendly touches. The lounge is warm and inviting, and the small bar is well-stocked with a wonderful bartender and top-notch drinks and appetizers, and the breakfast is quite excellent by any standard.
Few hotel breakfasts can be called delicious, and The Lodge's is just that. Spa services are also offered at the hotel and, as expected, are very enjoyable. We went in the off-season and so did not get to experience the lake shore s'mores pit or the balcony overlooking the lake but the view is phenomenal and it can only be assumed that in the summer the experience is twice as good. We will definitely be going back!
What a View!
We stayed for one night at the hotel. The staff (Jasmine, Nancy) were great! The room had an incredible view. Although we did not use the amenities we could see how enjoyable a stay in Summer or Fall would have so much to offer. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast had all we required. Again, the staff were excellent. We will be returning in the fall! Hopefully there will be ATV trails nearby.
Great experience. Love the lakefront setting. Second time staying there. First time was a business/group experience--had a blast. Thanks.

Either an updated or newer hotel, right on the lake with a gorgeous view!
The Lodge is located on the shores of Lake Detroit in Detroit Lakes, MN and has the ambiance that will make your experience a memorable one.
When you walk in, the decor really fits the atmosphere and you'll know you've made the right choice for your stay. The rooms are comfortable and very clean. They have the best continental breakfast and you get to enjoy it by overlooking the lake.
During the day you can soak up the sun on their beach and in the evenings you can enjoy a bonfire by the lake. This is one of the best hotels I've stayed in and I'd recommend it anyone looking for a relaxing stay.
The “WOW” service was over the top
This was a fantastic hotel and the ambiance was excellence. I've never experienced such great attention to detail and will definitely choose The Lodge in Detroit Lakes for my future visits. The "WOW" service I received was over the top. Thank you for making my retreat a memorable one for my company.

I went here for a retreat with my coworkers; the experience was simply wonderful. The staff was so warm and welcoming, the breakfast was very delicious. Don't even get me started on the rooms! They were very beautiful, with a mini fridge, microwave, and beautiful bathroom.
They had a rocking chair, desk, and a nice TV; but who needs a TV with a view like they have? I had a ground floor room, so I could walk right out of my room to the back, where they have a little "beach" and dock, a place for bon fires and a picnic tables. I had no choice but to go to The Lodge, this was a work retreat; but I am most definitely going to be making plans to come back here for myself when I need a little getaway. This place was simply splendid!!
The staff were very friendly and accommodating to our group. They provided support pads for our '"kick-stands," buckets and old towels to wash our bikes in addition to all the other things that a good hotel does to make your stay with them stand out as a cut above the rest.
The complimentary chairs, and fire-pit at the beach, along with the view over the lake, made our stay there seem like time spent at an expensive resort rather than a reasonably priced hotel providing five star service.
This is the second time we stayed at The Lodge. Both times we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. The rooms are great, we enjoy the view of the lake, it is very clean, staff are very friendly, and close to a great restaurant.
This is much more of a lodge than a hotel. The grounds were beautiful and well maintained. The are native wild flower gardens, a very clean beach, fire pits. (wood provided and smores kits at the front desk), and a dock where the kids caught a ton of fish.
We stayed with our kids for 3 nights and could have spent the whole time at the lodge. Breakfast was very well done for a continental and we loved eating on the balcony. We had a ground level room and sat and watched the sun set on the lake every night. The spa was very nice and the whole place immanently clean. I am thoroughly impressed, Best Western Premier. Thank you!
Thank you for the warm hospitality!
This is an absolutely beautiful hotel that feels more like a resort. Everything from the service, the food, the rooms with a beach front view, it was a fabulous experience! I don't have one single negative thing to say about this location . . .
The staff was so accommodating and eager to help in anyway they could. Detroit Lakes is such a fun, lake/beach town that I will for sure be traveling to again! Thank you for the warm hospitality!

Clean & Comfortable Hotel.
This is one of the most comfortable, clean, beautiful and reasonable hotels that I have stayed in. Even compared to other Best Westerns. It appeared to me that a lot of thought was put into building this hotel right down to the last detail.

Very professional & courteous staff
Very professional and courteous staff. From hotel staff to the staff at the spa each and every individual went out of their way to make sure we were satisfied.
My wife had a great experience at the spa, which is one the reasons I picked this hotel. Would gladly stay again.

10 Stars Plus!
If I could give more than 10 stars, I would, especially for the staff, receptionists and the breakfast attendant.

I spent three nights and each day upon my return to my room it was very clean. I stayed in room 204 and whoever the cleaner was did a very good job.

By far the BEST!
I have stayed in many hotels for my boys hockey tournaments and this one was by far the BEST one I have stayed in. I would really like to get up there in the summer to enjoy the lake and the awesome view this hotel has.
T.O. - Anoka, MN
I rated everything a 10.
I'd have given you 11's if possible! I arranged my business trip so that I could stay here everything about this property is perfect. Now I can't wait to bring my husband for a leisure trip next time. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

Front desk staff was very helpful - my car would not start and they called AAA for me to set up a time to start my car.

Best kept secret in Detroit Lakes!!
This hotel is the best kept secret in Detroit Lakes!! Very pretty- staff wonderful and the breakfast food to die for!
Stay here every time I do business in the area as well as we have stayed twice during the summer with our boating on the lake! Love this place Staff the best!

Just a terrific hotel!
The treadmills at the Fitness Center were top-notch, the bar was a fun little place to stop before going out into the town, and it's just a terrific hotel. I'll look forward to coming back.

The front Desk staff was great and the staff in the kitchen were not only pleasant they were on top of every need and checked on our conference on a regular basis. Great staff.

We will definitely come back!
This was our second stay at your hotel. Since we had such a pleasant experience, we decided to come back, even if it was a bit of a detour heading to Minneapolis. Great experience, very comfortable, clean, and great staff. We will definitely come back and recommend you to others.

We were celebrating my brother's 21st birthday. He and a friend enjoyed a spa treatment - message, manicure. My aunt purchased cosmetics from the spa. We had your family room and the adjoining room. It was a wonderful experience from start to finish for everyone that joined us.
Thank you! - A.V. Britt, MN
It was a wonderful experience!
We stayed over We Fest and had a great experience. Even though the hotel was booked solid, the staff was always there to help us.
They kept the hotel and rooms clean at all times. The beach perfectly kept was a great place to entertain the kids. We fished off the dock and had fun in the paddle boats. The breakfast was fantastic - a full hot breakfast with lots of great food. We plan to stay again next year!
Very nice hotel right on its own beach. We had a room on beach level and our patio doors open up to it. Very nice. I think we paid $170/night over Memorial Weekend.
Sounds like a lot, but you get a lot--including a great breakfast. Lot of options for varying diets/nutritional needs. If you think about the time and expense of bringing your family out to breakfast (depending on how many) we figured it balanced out at $170.
If you like to run/bike outside, the hotel is also right off of a bike/running path that heads towards the main beach on Detroit Lake. If you go all the way around the lake (using the shoulder of the roads too) back to the hotel its a 10 mile loop. Great place to stay. The only con is that the price fluctuates and the next time we wanted to book there (mid August 2014) they were requiring a 3 night stay minimum at $210 and up each night. That's a bit much.
The Lodge on Lake Detroit is probably the nicest hotel in DL. The rooms are always spic and span and the grounds are the same. The staff is always so friendly and helpful we keep going back year after year.
Our family uses it for a reunion site and we always have a great time staying there. There is a nice breakfast room where you can have your fill of waffles, eggs, sausage, cereal, caramel rolls etc. This is included in the price and you won't go away hungry. I can't wait until we go back again next year.
We return to this hotel every year for a Family Reunion (about 40 of us). The lodge is a great place for this as they have lots of different things to do to keep everyone entertained.
Nice beach, great spa, very good breakfast, great fire pits and breath taking sunsets you can watch from your own balcony or the hotel lobby balcony. They always have live entertainment on the Friday & Saturday evening in the main lobby bar. The rooms are spacious and decorated in a cabin style with upscale amenities. Beds are very comfortable. Staff is friendly. Always a great time.
Room Tip: I have seen the inside of all the different styles of rooms and they are all beautiful.
If you're going to be in the area, the place to stay is here. For me, first time here for a family wedding. Owners put a lot of time, money, and attention to detail and it shows! Large, spacious rooms. Fitness Center with latest equipment. Spa right on premises. Breakfast served every morning. Open & inviting public areas. Friendly & professional staff. Upscale luxury fishing lodge feel. Well worth the money.
